JoAnn's Blog

where once a dam held

fresh beaver work

adorns this snowy golf course

crisscrossed by deer tracks

and swooping woodpeckers

open water flows

where felled logs once held the river back

no sign of last year's lodge

or dam

except rocks, not so easily washed away,

roiling the current,

forming a bridge to the island

for coyotes to cross
